Some years ago, in the middle of a heavy infection my oldest son gave me some sachets of Samahan he had from his visit in Sri Lanka. A couple of hours later, I felt much better.

After this experience, I started drinking a cup of Samahan every day.  

Soon this became a supply problem. Ordering in Sri Lanka takes quite long, sometimes 2 to 3 months, and a lot of  orders got stuck with customs, due to missing declarations. 

At the same time, more and more friends and family wanted Samahan. So the idea of this shop was born.

Just at that time, I was looking for a way to add practical knowledge  to the very academic school economics of my youngest son, Paul (16). 

 

So Samahan.online started as a scholar-project.

 

Together with his friends and a little help from me, he designed the webpage, organised sourcing, stock keeping, marketing and shipping. In addition they learned a lot about accounting, calculation and taxes.

And now, half a year after starting in Germany, we are taking the next step with this English website for our European customers.
